For all of you website owners or soon to be webmasters, I have put off the Web Design Tips page long enough. So here it is! I hope this page gives you some good ideas, tips and knowledge about designing your website. This page isn’t just directed to Microsoft Office Live users. This page is made to help all website owners! Remember, everyone has their own opinions on website development and design. This page is my opinion on what may help you with your website. From experience, I know the tips below work and help those that are serious about their websites.
I have viewed many sites through out my website journey. I have seen some really good websites that were obviously done by a professional web designer, and I have viewed some websites that need a tremendous amount of help. Of course, there are the one page websites that we all hate. One page sites shouldn’t even be called websites. More on this wrong website development later. I am here to help you better your website’s design.
Web Design Tips:
Let’s start with website themes: Think of what type of website you are developing, or plan to develop. A business website will be designed way different than a party website. Business websites need to look professional. Party and Fun websites need to look appealing and exciting. You know with the flashy banners and colorful confetti? Bright colors, balloons, streamers, and interesting text styles all represent party time! Website theme is a major factor on your website’s design.
What colors should I choose for my business website? That is a great question that many beginner website owners have. Cool and calm colors should be used for a business website. I know that we all have our favorite colors and we want to represent our selves. Save the favorite colors for your fun or social website. Limit the amount of colors to your business website. Profile pages can have your personal and favorite design. Business web design needs to keep the attention of the readers in need of your information. Bright and distracting colors will only drive them away. More information on web design colors soon.
Who are you targeting in your website? What group of people is your website directed to? Do you want kids to read your site content? Make sure your web design is suitable for all ages. If you want children to read and return to your website for research or for fun, keep your information and design interesting. If you want return visitors that read your website’s information, keep your information coming. Develop new and updated information about your website. If you want return visitors who are at your fun website, add, upload and or produce fun activities. Fun Games, Puzzles, Chat Boxes ect… Do not over do the design though. Do you like to be crowded when you go to a website? Distraction is not the key to returning visitors. You need to think of the needs of your targeted visitors.
Banners, Text Links, Hyperlinks and Popup ads- Of course after you have worked so hard on your website, you will automatically figure your website looks good. Get another opinion on your website design. Have someone else take a good look at your website. Ask them to tell you the truth on what your website design looks like. Too many affiliate banners, text links, hyperlinks and ads may ruin your website design.
Popups ads are very irritating to many people searching for useful information or products. If you choose to use pop-up ads on your website, make sure you limit the amount of ads that you place on your site. Have an open mind when somebody talks negatively about your web design. Turn the negative into a positive and try to fix the design problems. Make sure you don’t have broken text or hyperlinks in your website. This will automatically make visitors think that your design is weak. They will also not like the fact that your website navigation doesn’t work very well.
Customize your website- Make a custom website by adding a permanent logo for your website. Customizing your website will help add a name for your site. Try to make a custom logo, and website header that will be yours and only yours. This is a great way to represent your business website. Having a logo will help give your website visitors a visual icon to remember and later return to your website.

Hi! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could find a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having difficulty finding one? Thanks a lot!
You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
Quite useful, thanks. Usually remember the old adage: “Keep it simple, stupid” especially true for forms.
It’s really a cool and helpful piece of information. I’m glad that you simply shared this useful info with us. Please stay us informed like this. Thank you for sharing.
