Google Adsense HTML Placement Help!
Are you stuck on adding google adsense ads to your officelive website?
This page is made for all of you who have websites with Microsoft officelive.com!
I went through the same problem with my websites. I knew how to copy and paste html code to my website, but when it came to adding the google adsense html, I was so stumped. I looked on the officelive help forum and kept searching for someone to help me figure my problem out. I was directed to a couple of websites that seemed to help a little. They all seemed really advanced and confusing though for me. I was too scared to use the method of adding and deleting a bunch of parts of the google adsense html code.
Obviously, I read the terms and agreement to using google adsense. I didn't want to jeopordize my account by altering the adsense code. Plus, I didn't want to go thru all that work of adding and deleting html code. HTML code is definitely not my favorite thing to do in website development and design.
After a long and stressful time frame, I managed to come up with an easier method of copying and uploading the adsense codes. I feel much better now knowing this method works and it doesn't alter the google adsense html code. This shouldn't cause any problems with the activation of your google adsense account. This method of adding your code to your officelive website is based upon iframes! Scroll down for complete step by step instuctions!
If you are using dreamweaver for your website, there may be a different procedure for adding google ads to your website, please view the dreamweaver link below. There has been rumors around stating that dreamweaver is a very simple method of of building a website without the hassles of html code. Here is the method of getting your google adsense ads to work on your officelive website! If you are still a little worried about using the below method for your website, then view this link for proof that it is ok. | Step One | Google Adsense! First thing to do is to make sure you have a google adsense account. The next thing to do is login to your google adsense account. Create your ads within your google account and copy the code for your ad! |
| Step Two | Notepad! Open your notepad on your computer (this should be located in your computer programs). Mine is located on my list of programs when I hit my start button on my computer. After your notepad is open, you want to paste the google adsense code to your notepad. Save what you just did, hit save as and then save it as a short and easy to remember file name, such as newcode. So you want to type in the save box: newcode. (The name to your code is your choice)! You need to save your code as newcode.htm. Many people save it as .txt and have troubles later! |
| Step Three | Officelive! The Next thing to do is log into your officelive website. You then want to go to the document gallery. The document gallery should be on the left side of your page manager page. You are now going to upload the file that you just made in step two that has your google html code on it. Hit the upload button and a box should pop up, this is the document uploader, Now hit browse so you can find the code file that you saved earlier. After you find the saved code, hit the add button on the document uploader, then hit upload. You should be able to see your code now in your document gallery. For different google ads that you place on your website, you will need to make and upload a saved document for each ad code. Only if the ad is a different size or format. |
| Step Four | Insert Code! Copy the html code that I provided below and paste and save it into your notepad. Save it as: Code for html adsense! (or something you will recognize as the main code) <iframe SRC="/Documents/code.htm" width="200px" height="90px" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0px" marginheight="0px" scrolling="no" </iframe> To place a google adsense ad to your website: Place your curser on the spot you want your ad to be at, hit the insert module button in your website's page editor, choose html, a box should appear, copy and paste the above code into your html box. Replace code.htm with the name of the document code that you saved and uploaded at the very beginning of the steps above! (newcode). You need to also replace the size 200px and 90px with the size you want your ad to be. You may need to look at the size of the code you uploaded first.
