Advanced pages to consider for a website!
If you are serious about your website and would like your website to look professional, then you should consider including the advanced pages below.
Google Adsense Placement Guide For Office Live Websites on this page!
Earlier, I discussed the main pages needed for a website, home page, about us page, contact us page and sitemap page. I also stated that there are many other pages to consider for your website. Depending on what your website is about, advanced website pages may be needed.
In my opinion as a website owner, these pages are considered advanced pages for a website because they are not absolutely needed for a website. They are however helpful and I encourage you to take some time to view these pages to decide if you need them for your website.
The LinksPage is very important to your website, I have also already discussed why a link page is important via this website...please take some time to review what a links page is!
A privacy policy page is needed for your website if you are selling anything via your website or if you have advertisements up on your website. Those of you who have ads such as google adsense, then you need to have a privacy policy statement posted on your website. This is part of the terms and agreements that google adsense has. I advise all website owners who dislpay any third party ads or products on their website to have a privacy policy. I know, you are probably thinking, "but what if I don't know how to do a privacy policy statement for my website?" Before creating this website, I had no idea either, and I got lucky and found a website to help me with my privacy policy. I encourage everyone to do their own research on what needs to be included in their privacy policy statement page. You need to research the companies that you display on your website, to see if they use cookies when people view your website. You need to know which information is gathered and used from your viewers.
A forum page is another helpful page for your website. A forum allows your visitors to interact with each other by posting questions, statements and answers about their websites. Forums are becoming more and more popular for websites everyday. In this website, I have added a help forum, this is a place where website owners can come and post their questions about building websites. My help forum is directed to most officelive users. But everyone is welcome to our help forum. We help answer questions that website owners have about building their officelive websites. I say "we" because I want everyone to consider my help forum as their own. I want everyone to post questions and answers, so that we can all help each other with our websites.
There are a few different ways to add a forum page to your website. If your website is hosted through microsoft officelive then view my embeded forum guide for help placing a forum page on your website. Please keep in mind that our embeded forum guide is only a guide for officelive users and it is made so that website owners can embed a forum into their website. Officelive doesn't provide a page template for a forum in the websites that they offer, but it is possible to embed a forum into your officelive website. You may also have your forum page link to your forum. An embeded forum looks more like your website and looks much more professional, than just a link from your website. With that said, I encourage my viewers to embed a forum to their websites, if needed.
A blog page is another page to help communicate with your visitors of your website. A blog is a good place to post updates to your website. This allows your viewers to stay up to date with what is happening via your website. I use my blog page to post bits of information from my new pages that I make on my website. This helps drive traffic to your website and allows your visitors to keep in touch with you and your website. A blog page can act as or replace a newsletter page. Making a blog page is a pretty basic procedure. My blog page via this website is create through www.blogger.com. I posted a link on my blog page to my blogger blog. I also have an embeded blog that has posts from my livespaces blog. If you are using officelive for your website, then this is an option for an embeded blog to your website. You hit the insert module and then choose the live spaces blog option where you want your blog to be displayed at.
A newsletter page is another page that you may include in your website. Depending on what your website is about and how large your company is, you may or may not need a newsletter page. This page is basically a page to post updated news about your company, business and or website. A newsletter is often emailed to business websites customers.
A few other pages that may be helpful for your website is: Company calendar page, press release page, employee's bios page, and a legal information page. For detailed information on how to build these pages, contact me here.
