How I added Icons to my Office Live Website!

To add icons to my officelive website, I google searched for "free website icons". I than chose the icons that I wanted for my website by clicking on them. I then right clicked on my mouse and saved the icon image to my computer. I then uploaded the image to my officelive website. How did I upload the icon image to my site? I signed into my officelive website, hit the design option, and then went to my image gallery. If you don't have a Microsoft Office Live website, you should do a google search for free website icons that you can download to your computer.

In the image gallery, there is a browse button that you can click on. This brings up all your images that are saved to your computer. Pick which image icon that you want and hit upload. This uploads the image icon to your website. You now want to return to the web page where you want the icon to be at. Place your curser on the area and hit the "insert image" module that is on your page editor. You now want to hyperlink the image icon to the page or action that you want your viewers to be directed too.

How to hyperlink a icon in an officelive website?

Now that you have your icon uploaded and inserted to your website, you want to hyperlink it to the desired web page. Right click on your website icon, you will now see a list of choices. Within those choices you should see, "create/edit link". This is the option that you choose to hyperlink an image. After you have chosen to create a link, you want to enter in the website address where you want the image to take you when it is clicked on. You have a choice in choosing your own web page from your site or entering in another website address. If you choose another web address, make sure you enter the full url or the link will become broken. You should be able to right click on the sample website icons above and save them to your computer. The icons above in the table are free for your personal use only. I have not hyperlinked them so if you click on them, they should not direct you to any other webpage.

The Green Arrow Icon is used on my web pages to direct my visitors to the next page. The Blue question mark icon is used via this help site to direct my viewers to my contact page in case they (you) need any help. The Visa/Credit Card icon is for website owners to accept credit cards on their websites. You can add that icon to direct your customers to your payment page via your website. The shopping cart is another ecommerce website icon that owners can use to help their website checkout process. The Follow Me icon is for twitter users to link their twitter profile pages to their websites.
